The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested 19 suspects for their alleged involvement in cases of cultism and murder in the state.
Commissioner of Police in the state, Joseph Mukan, disclosed this to reporters while parading the suspects at the Police Headquarters in Yenagoa, the state capital.
He explained that the police have continued to make consistent efforts towards curbing the high rise of insecurity in Yenagoa.
Mukan noted that this has produced some positive results, resulting in the arrest of the suspects who are being investigated by the police.
He disclosed that all the suspects were below the age of 25 and 17 of them were apprehended as alleged cultists while the other two were arrested in connection with a murder case.
The police commissioner thereafter called on parents to warn their children to shun all forms of crime and be more vigilant regarding their activities.
Chairman of the Bayelsa State Vigilante, Mr Parkins Ogede, who also witnessed the parade of the suspects said security in Bayelsa was the business of every resident.
